What is a Habit:-
Habit is a repetitive process store in our subconscious mind which is triggered by certain clue and at the end of the process, we get some pleasure.
– Like drinking tea at a certain time.
– Waking up early at a certain time
– A smoking cigarette or chewing tobacco
Our brain neurons make a certain pattern and at the end a chemical named dopamine release into the brain which gives us pleasure and because of the pleasure the Pattern repeat again and again.
Imagine any of your habits will have the same process.
Why we have a habit:-
Our brain is only 2% of the body weight but consumes 20% of the energy that’s why our brain is very much particular about using the energy. Our brain saves energy brain by this automated process that trigger by certain events. This is the scientific way of working of your brain.
So What is the problem:-
Our brain does not know what is a good habit or bad. It just checks if it is repeating the process and gives some pleasure so let’s repeat it.
Our 40% to 45% of daily life runs through this habit system therefore it is very important for us to analyse what we do on a daily basis.
What is the solution:-
The brain is not able to bifurcate between good or a bad habit therefore we have to use our consciousness and layer of awareness to bifurcate what we should do and what not.
Write down what you do daily on a piece of paper and analyse that, this is for you really want to do in your life?
Is it really going to take you to your ultimate goal?
If the answer is yes do continue it and make a strong habit.
If the answer is no then break the chain and change the habit.
*How to change the bad habit:-*
As we see the brain build patterns then you only have to check that pattern analyse it and break it. Breaking the chain multiple time will help you to remove the bad habit from your brain.
As we have seen brain is very much particular about using energy, just like it store the pattern it will also remove the pattern which is not at all useful.
Breaking the chain of a bad habits help you to realise your brain it is not at all useful and it will remove from the subconscious mind.
*How to build good habit:-*
Take a small step at the time. Start with small number.
– If you want to develop habit of reading book, read the book only for five minutes Or 5 pages at the time.
– Do meditation for 3 minutes only day.
Be consistent and repeat it daily for a few weeks. Even though you don’t find it good on initially basis don’t worry and be consistent about it.
At the end I have to tell you that you should have this one habit to be a successful in your life and that is reading a book.
