Dr.John J Medina is a development molecular biologists. His special research interests in the isolation and characterization of genes involved in human brain development. Dr. Medina has spent most of his professional life as an analytical research consultant on research issues related to mental health.

After years of researching in this area, Dr. Medina has written 12 Brain rules in his The New York times best seller book “Brain rules”. If we use this Amazingly researched brain rules methods, we can increase the productivity of our brain by 34%. Lets see what are this amazing brain rules.

1. EXERCISE: Exercise boosts brain power: – We all know who that doing the regular exercise gives you more powerful brain and active body but is it only the human observation or reality ? So doctor done proper scientific experiments and find out that those who do regular exercise, perform MUCH better in memory and special thinking than those who follow sedentary lifestyle. This is because our brain was design thousands of years ago with body that walk 12 miles per day.

2. SURVIVAL: The human brain evolved, too: – It takes thousands of years for human to gets this brain.

– First we had lizard brain, means the brain that do very basic functions like breathing , heart rate maintenance , sleeping and waking up etc. this can not do any complex work. But after that brain got adding called AMYGDALA.

– With AMYGDALA, we got brain like cat and we are capable of doing new things like we can do better hunting and can identify threats around us and run away quickly and reproduce.

3.WIRING: Every brain is wired differently :- It means that every brain is wired differently. What we do with out body small or big things can create and change wired in our brain. No two people have the same brain, not even twins. Every student’s brain, every employee’s brain, every customer’s brain is wired differently. That’s why if same incidence happen with 2 different people at the same place , same time, what they store in their brain is different not the same things or not at the same place

4.ATTENTION: We don’t pay attention to boring things: – By amazing research , researchers come to know that at the time we can only focus to one thing. The brain is not capable of multi-tasking. We can talk and breathe, but when it comes to higher level tasks, we just can’t do it. We human are not made for multitasking. Even through we are paying attention on too many things, within seconds our brain delete maximum data of it so that we can focus on one thing only.

5.MEMORY: Repeat to remember: – The human brain can only hold about seven pieces of information for less than 30 seconds! Which means, your brain can only handle a 7-digit phone number. If you want to extend the 30 seconds to a few minutes or even an hour or two, you will need to consistently re-expose yourself to the information.

6. LONG MEMORY : Remember to repeat: – We lost most of the information in first few seconds only. Long term memories are combination of Hippocampus and cortex communication means if you want to remember things for the long terms you should remember things which is related to that information and you should revise the information in certain time frame.
