Review by Chetan patel
How are you feeling now?
I asked this question because your feelings determine the quality of life you are living now in the present.
Sadly, nobody has taught the science of understanding emotions and generating desired results by working on it.
In this book, I found a clear understanding of emotions and tools to rephrase, reprogram, change your stories or control emotions. As a life coach and business mentor, I recommend you keep this book in your library as a leader.
Let’s begin,
About author
Thibaut Meurisse is a self-help author who launched his full-time writing career in 2017. He is from France and now working at japan. To date, he has more than 20 books to his name. Master Your Emotions is part of his Mastery Series. Other titles include Master Your Motivations, Master Your Beliefs, and Master Your Learning.
The next book I will read is Dopamine Detox.
What is Master Your Emotions about?
It’s on understanding your emotions and controlling them. Instead of letting your negative emotions control your life, this guide, worksheets and practical exercises encourage you to build positive instead of negative emotions and take back control of your life.
I think It will support you to utilize your emotions to fuel personal growth and development.
This book is divided into four parts,
First is all about emotions, why we think negatively and also discovering your belief impacts your emotions. In short, it will give you an idea about how negative emotions work and why they are so tricky.
In the second part, the author discussed things that impact emotions and roles of the body, thoughts, and sleep. Also this part focuses on how to use all of them to change your emotions.
The third part describes the formation of emotions and conditioning tricks to experience positive emotions.
The fourth part finally gives tools for personal growth. How to use fear and depression to grow.
My learnings,
- One day I will is a myth.
- Happiness is 50 % genetic, 40 % internal factor and 1o% depends on external factors.- author Sonja Lyubomisrky
- Your attitude towards life influences your happiness not what happens to you.
- don’t always prepare yourself or happiness always, it fluctuates
- Emotion = How you see life + How you see world
- Most people derive their self-worth from their physical appearance
- Ego never gets satisfied – it is not bad or good, it is just your identity
- Negative emotions are good, they will you great
- to master emotion, just get present to your emotion
- The event has two outcomes: results and concerns
- you are your emotion: the past has beliefs, the present has stress and the future has worry
- strong emotion = interpretation pf event + identification of thought arise + repetition
- five-step to let go of your emotion – focus on emotion, ask questions with could I ( to accept ), ask questions with would I ( to reduce ) ask when you want to take action, repeat the process
- It also has many chapters on the impact of sleep, thought and food on emotions
- I used the stress framework to reduce my stress and found a solution
- this book supports you in understanding your emotions and using your fear, and jealousy for your personal growth also.
I can give an 8 rating out of 10 to this book.
