05 Feb Automation in IT and related Productivity

/
When India started outsourcing the first $100 billion gave job to 3 million or 30 lakhs people. The next $100 billion would give job to only 1 million people.
Reasons:
- IT Jobs are moving more towards high-tech jobs like Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Machine Learning.
- Smart companies are automating commoditised jobs using bots and robots to save cost and time. What used to take months can be done in fraction of the time and cost.
Future:
- Just like auto industry, IT industry is moving towards automation, a lot of jobs will die because of the automation and best way to move forward is to focus on high end jobs and automate what could be done by bots and robots.
- Along with automation, IT companies should start working on productivity per employee. Measure how productive your employees are and though 100% productivity can’t be achieved, you can still focus on how to achieve 100% + productivity combining automation and employee’s skills. Automate every task that are repeatedly being done and start saving time and cost.
