Leaders don't do - Chetan Patel

Leaders don’t do

Leaders don’t do

Hey readers,

Thank you for being with me in the leadership series.

The scope is very important in leadership and scope means what won’t I do?

generally,

Effective leaders DON’T care about:

  • Who gets the credit

It is very important for all human beings to get acknowledged for his/her work or achievement because human being has three deep desires in their subconscious: appreciation, love, and money. here we need to understand that leaders leave the fame first. they work for a noble cause and make an impact on the world around them. they don’t work for acknowledgment.  ram hasn’t killed Ravan for fame, and Krishna hasn’t helped Arjun for fame. rather sometimes it gives discredits so be ready for it also.

Mitesh Umariya says – Gandhiji worked for the freedom of India, he focused on what is needed to be done so he got many discredits also but he didn’t take care of it.

Priti Mehta says about Sardar Patel and his work on Hyderabad nizam

Chandani Patel says about aadi Sankaracharya removed many social rituals

Chirag kheni says – swami Vivekanand worked on youth.

Kishan Shignala says about ratan tata selected singur for Paschim bangal

  • Where work is done

  • How work is done

Now, you should not focus on all the micro works but you can outsource it.

Amar says, many languages we don’t so that can be outsourced, and marketing can be outsourced.

Mitesh says, don’t outsource core business so that all the powers can be with us.

Printy says it’s good to make our minds free to think about micromanagement.

Chandani, Says we can outsource development work and focus on the sales area.

I conclude that we should focus on Return on time investment rather return on investment only. when you will start focusing time, you will automatically drop the “Where is done”

  • Pleasing everyone

When we try to please everyone, we are juggling several factors. Every person has different motivations and goals. Some people are ambitious, wanting to improve their careers and get promoted. Others are more interested in their family life. They will come to work and do their job, but after all, it’s just a job.

The trouble is, you can only really put forward one approach for your team. This team approach comprises several factors and is also guided by how your organisation operates. Just a few of these factors include:

  • How do you manage performance
  • Any provisions for flexible working
  • Team structure and leadership roles
  • Remuneration
  • Learning and development approach
  • Team rewards.
  • Avoiding Unhappiness is Not the Goal
    • The goal for leaders should not be to please everyone. Nor should it be to avoid unhappiness at all costs. Given that you cannot possibly cater for everybody’s preferences, you are bound to experience some unhappiness within your team at some point.
    • When people in your team are unhappy, you should definitely listen to their concerns and look for possible ways to resolve them. However, this should not happen by bending the ruleschanging the way you run your team, or doing favours for people.
  • Trying to Please Everyone Results in Mediocrity
    • Trying to please everyone can actually bring some unintended consequences. Some leaders believe that making everybody happy is a worthy goal.
    • When your team is just happy enough not to quityour team won’t do their best work.
  • Always being right

Always being right is an irrational way of thinking characterized by the need to always prove themselves right by proving others’ opinions wrong.

People with this unrealistic mindset cannot accept that they can commit mistakes. Hence, they will do everything in their power to show others that they are correct. This makes them have recurrent arguments and rifts regarding their relationships with others.

As per the law of occurrence, ( drashti evi srushti ); its leader’s own world which stops him/her to see reality from his/her own point of view.

Always being right is one of the most common types of cognitive distortions based on Aaron Beck’s cognitive theory.

chetan shared that ekalvya academy get failed due to his righteous mindset,

Amar shared that his business failed due to his righteous decision,

Mitesh shared that his family get nuclear due to his righteous way of being,

Priti shared that she offended her father once and she is guilty still.

Prayati didn’t fins any such events in her life as she takes decisions with the team without bias ness.

Chandni says , her nature always does work to prove that this decision stopping her from live with freedom.

so friends, what happened is happening now it has nothing to do with your present life, live complaint, blame and excuses and see what next you can do. I don’t keep guilty of my being at that time, rather now I am supporting many business men to be flexible while taking decisions and sharing my story to let them not operate themselves from BEING RIGHT.

we will work on the below points next time.

  • Changing their mind
